The founder of "The Pond Masters Network" started over 43 years ago with a company called Pond Services Cumbria which is still operating today. The reason Pond Services was launched is because over 43 years ago, he decided to build a garden pond, he got two books and they both said different things, so who do you believe, he said well if I'm having this problem there must be thousands of others the same, so Pond Services Cumbria was launched

He decided one day to build a pond in his garden, unfortunately he does not do things by half and the size was 18' long x 12' wide and 7' deep, everyone thought it was a swimming pool, so not a small pond by any means to start with.

Once he had designed and built it, He then wanted to stock it with some coldwater fish with lots of different colours and then came across Koi Carp and fell in love with them, but trying to find out the correct information on how to keep them etc, did prove to be very difficult....as one book told a different story to the other...... so who do you follow?

So having this problem of finding the correct information, made me think, others must be having the same problems. So it prompted me to find it out and start offering a service to others that were wanting to start with there own pond etc, so that was where it all begun....

We built a purpose built aquatic centre which housed five large indoor ponds and twelve smaller ponds and was called Country Koi.

We then added the addition of a fish hospital to help fix problems fish, and were the first ever aquatic centre in Cumbria to be filmed by the local TV station Border Television operating on a large Koi carp which had a bad bacterial disease,which went on to make a full recovery, but unfortunately left a small white scare.

Then we moved out of the aquatic side and concentrated on our core business which was designing/constructing ponds, filtration systems and consultancy/advice for customers for all water gardening projects both small and large.

We are still very active in the water gardening industry and over the past 43 years we have vastly expanded and built up our excellent reputation by offering first class advice and an even better after sales service to the water gardener and other businesses, and by this it has made us the business we are today, with happy to help staff and solving customers problems, it is peace of mind for you knowing there is someone at the end of a phone or we can come out and iron out any problems you may be experiencing.
